Our Pastors

Pastor David Michael

Pastor David Michael was born in Southern Illinois in 1949 and grew up in Robinson, Illinois. His family moved to Brownsburg, Indiana his senior year of High School. During high school he felt called to preach but was unable to pursue the ministry at that time. After working for New York Central Railroad and Penn Central Railroad for one year, he served in the US Navy in the Nuclear Power Program, including 3 ½ years on a Nuclear Submarine. After eight years in the Navy, he settled in Idaho.

Prior to retiring from the Idaho National Laboratory as a Project Manager and a Project Controls Engineer 2102, Pastor Michael served many years as a lay pastor and fill-in Pastor for vacationing pastors and churches without a pastor throughout Eastern Idaho. He served as an Ordained Deacon at Calvary Baptist Church in Idaho Falls for over 34 years.  For over 25 years he has been a member of the Sunday School Education Training Team for the Utah/Idaho Southern Baptist Convention.

In 2012, David served unofficially as the Interim Pastor at Blackfoot Southern Baptist Church for nine months. In March of 2016, he was called to serve as the Minister of Education at Grace at Riverside Baptist Church in Blackfoot.  Pastor David Michael became the Senior Pastor at Grace in 2017.

David was happily married for 47 years to his wife, Barbara Michael who faithfully supported his ministry. She passed away in August of 2019.

Pastor David Kite and Sue

While a building contractor, David Kite was called into full-time ministry to preach the gospel at the age of 42 in 1991.
After pastoring 22 years in traditional churches in North and South Carolina, he and his wife Sue felt God’s calling to the West as church planters with the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention to plant and pastor Cowboy Churches in Southeastern Idaho.

He currently pastors four Cowboy Churches and co-pastors Grace at Riverside along with Jim Ballard. David and Sue have one daughter, a son-in-law and two grandchildren who recently moved to the area to be closer to family.

Dave has a BA in Religion from North Greenville University and a MDIV with Languages from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, NC.

David is currently serving as President of the Utah/Idaho Southern Baptist Convention.

Dave’s wife Sue plays the piano for church services at Grace.
